COMEX

  • Warehouse Stock: Holds 722,839 short tons (approx. 653,571 metric tones) of registered and eligible copper as of August 2026.
  • Monthly Growth: Over 200,000 tones of copper arrived at U.S. ports in July alone, representing the largest single-month inflow in over 12 years
  • Year-to-Date Surge: Official COMEX inventories have surged by more than 40% since the start of 2026.
LME COPPER Tracking Recent Inventory Trends
  • Draining consecutive sessions: Draining for 29 straight days.
  • Substantial monthly drop: Inventory declined 33.1% over 30 days.
  • Reversal from peaks: Way down from March highs of 330,375 tones.
  • Tighter nearby availability: Cash premiums widening due to low stock SHFE COPPER:- Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) copper warehouse inventories recently rose by about 1.1% to roughly 69,334 to 70,116 metric tones. This modest build contributed to downward pressure on copper prices alongside slowing Chinese manufacturing data and cautious consumer demand.
